A Nine-Week Unit Plan Based on the Question, "Is Hierarchy Necessary for a Society to Survive?"

This website has been designed to present a nine-week-long unit plan, centered on questioning the necessity of hierarchy within a society. On this website, we have included an introduction and background information about our imagined classroom, a rationale for why we have designed our unit in this way, a calendar outlining the unit, and 20 unique lesson plans for use throughout the nine weeks. Supplemental materials and readings used in each of the lesson plans have also been provided. There is an additional page dedicated to each of the two novels that provide the backbone of our unit, as well as resources to be used by teachers and students. We have spent a great deal of time and effort in formatting this unit, and hope that you find it informative, innovative, and applicable.
